UT Arlington – University Crossroads Volunteers Receive National Service Award

Rodney Baker Awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award

September 4, 2020 – We are proud to announce that Rodney Baker of Hot Rod Connects has been selected by The University of Texas at Arlington’s University Crossroads outreach and community engagement program as one of only four recipients to receive the prestigious 2020 President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) bronze medallion for his service to the community.

About the President's Volunteer Service Award

In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the importance of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity.  This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.

The PVSA has continued under each administration, honoring the volunteers who are using their time and talents to solve some of the toughest challenges facing our nation.

Led by the Corporation for National and Community Service and managed in partnership with the Points of Light Foundation, this program allows Certifying Organizations such as “UTA University Crossroads” to recognize their most exceptional volunteers.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a prestigious national honor that highlights commitment to serving the community and the nation.
